Pick up Trash- Malama Da Aina

Our island is beautiful and we will keep it that way.  We are up and down the Haleakala, and along the Road to Hana daily.  It is our duty to help clean trash from the routes.  Easy Thing to Do for everyone on Maui- Throw away your rubbish.  See trash all over the spot you stop? Pick it up..... well right.....but what if its covered in human ickiness? EASY.....

We always carry a large plastic bag, disposible gloves, trash bag, baby wipes and hand sanitizer. Most First Aid kits also come with Bio Hazard bags and things needed to pick up the extra nasty.  Many people get car sick along the routes.  Some sad souls get sick and don't carry home their grossness.  Tip* The town of Paia has no Trash Cans along the roads but still manages to stay clean.

There are many public restrooms available along all routes.  When you are with a professional tour guide they should be allowing you to stop for restrooms and explain how far the next public restroom is available.  Please plan and potty accordingly.  Remove your tissue paper from the land if the restroom stop cannot wait, it's THE Only respectful thing you could do while enjoying the beauty Maui has to offer you. Take your own hand soap to the restroom.  Its a fact, hand soap is rarely found in public restrooms here.
